Lastly, as you might expect of a finance company, we work really hard when we need to, but we don’t work hard just for the sake of it. We don’t miss our kids’ concerts, we work out during the day and we usually sign off early on Fridays.

You’re an Elite and Enthusiastic/detail-oriented individual, to join our team as a Junior Accountant. While 1-2 years of experience is advantageous, it's not mandatory – we value a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn. The work you do for our clients helps them truly unplug on vacation, have more time with their kids, and get back to enjoying running their businesses.
You will have two major accountabilities:
- Ensuring precise categorization and organization of financial transactions, contributing to the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Taking ownership of the invoicing and billing process, recording, tracking, and following up on invoices and bills to facilitate timely payments and prevent overdue status.
You will be working across a wide range of tech and software platforms including NetSuite, Shopify, Amazon Seller Central and Vendor Central, QuickBooks Online, Xero, Hubdoc, Dext, Google Sheets, Google Docs, Glew.io, Rippling, Gusto, Bill.com, and more.
What you will do
Time Zone: You will need to work 10am - 5pm PST, with some flexibility for client needs.
Junior Accountant
- Efficiently organize financial transactions for accurate accounting records.
- Conduct monthly/ regular bank, credit card, loans, etc., reconciliations for financial accuracy.
- Perform data entry tasks to support seamless financial information flow.
- Monitor and respond to emails, directing inquiries appropriately.
- Record and track invoices, actively addressing overdue payments and customer/vendor issues.
- Record and track bills, ensuring timely payments and reporting to seniors on overdue bills.
- Run and submit payroll for approval, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Timely and professional resolution of minor issues with customers and vendors.
- Undertake miscellaneous tasks to enhance overall accounting department efficiency.
- Ensure daily upkeep of financial books for smooth accounting processes.
- Support Amazon eCommerce accounting, including reconciliation of Amazon payouts, fees, refunds, and settlements through Seller/Vendor Central.
Assist with the day-to-day bookkeeping needs of eCommerce clients operating on Amazon and Shopify.
Skills and Attributes
- Attention to Detail and Accuracy: Demonstrated ability to efficiently organize financial transactions and maintain accurate accounting records.
- Strong Organizational and Time-Management Skills: Proven ability to keep financial books up to date and complete reconciliations on schedule.
- Accounting Software Proficiency: Experience with or strong interest in learning QuickBooks Online and Xero (preferred).
- Knowledge of Accrual Accounting: A solid understanding of accrual-based accounting principles is preferred to ensure accurate revenue recognition and expense matching.
- Amazon Experience: Prior exposure to Amazon Seller Central or Vendor Central, including transaction reconciliation and fee analysis, is highly valued.
- Effective Communication Skills: Ability to communicate professionally with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- Invoice and Bill Management: Experience recording, tracking, and following up on invoices and bills.
- Payroll Processing: Experience running payroll or assisting with payroll submissions is an asset.
- Problem-Solving & Proactivity: Comfortable handling issues independently and escalating when necessary.
- Self-Learner: Strong desire to continuously learn and improve.
- Initiative: Willingness to suggest improvements and streamline processes.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Your experience and education
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- 1–2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience supporting eCommerce businesses, especially those selling on Amazon, is a strong advantage.
- Familiarity with QuickBooks Online and/or Xero is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
