About Eightx

We provide Fractional CFO services for fast-growing eCommerce Brands and Agencies across Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom, with one goal in mind:

To help eCommerce business owners scale their businesses with more cash and less stress.

This requires a broad range of skills including financial modelling, risk management, US/Canadian GAAP, financing, audit and investor relations. We are small but growing fast, which means real ownership and a clear path into future roles such as Finance Manager or VP Finance.

As you'd expect of a finance company, we work hard when it counts — but not for the sake of it. We don't miss the things that matter outside work, we protect our time, and we usually sign off early on Fridays.

About the position

You're an experienced Senior Analyst who wants your work to have a real impact. You'll own a portfolio of clients end-to-end — building their financial models, running their monthly numbers, and fielding questions directly from owners and their investors. The models and analysis you build help business owners unplug on vacation, get time back with their families, and enjoy running their companies again.

You'll report to our FP&A Manager and work directly alongside our senior partners and managing partner — a small, senior team where your work is visible and your growth into Finance Manager or VP Finance is real, not aspirational.

Across your portfolio you'll handle financial modelling, budgeting, cash flow forecasting, scenario planning and variance analysis. You'll build 3-statement financial models from the ground up, then run and adjust them every month against each client's actual results.

You'll work across a wide range of platforms including Shopify, QuickBooks Online, Xero, Google Sheets, Google Docs, Glew.io, Amazon Seller/Vendor, Rippling and Gusto. We hire for modelling skill and judgment and will train you on our stack — you don't need prior experience with every tool.

A note on intensity: this is a demanding role, but the intensity is project-driven, not chronic. Crunch clusters around month-end close and client board prep; the rest of the time you own your calendar.

Hours & time zone

This is a fully remote, Bengaluru-based role. We focus on output and impact rather than hours logged.

Please read this carefully before applying: the role works an evening/overnight India shift to overlap with our North American leadership and marketing teams — consistent overlap with Pacific Time, roughly 6:00am–2:00pm PT, which is about 6:30pm–2:30am IST. Apply only if that schedule works for you long-term.

What you will do

Financial Modelling

We build forecasts that are realistic, robust and useful for decision-making.

  • Build 3-statement, dynamic financial models (income statement, balance sheet, cash flows)
  • Each month, as we meet with clients, adjust the models and flag potential margin and cash flow issues
  • Field questions and requests from clients and potential investors, and work them into the models
  • Benchmark client metrics against industry and sector data so forecasts reflect likely reality
  • Create scenarios for every model so assumptions can be tested regularly

Financial Reporting

We look backward so we can look forward — to manage cash flow and mitigate risk.

  • Monthly reporting, including variance analysis
  • Building and updating KPI dashboards
  • Maintaining 3-statement forecasts (P&L, Cash Flows, Balance Sheet)
  • Cash flow monitoring and forecasting

What you must have (required)

  • 5+ years' experience in finance, with demonstrated expertise building and maintaining 3-statement financial models in Microsoft Excel
  • A working understanding of US GAAP; Canadian GAAP or IFRS exposure an asset — we'll train you on our US/Canadian reporting conventions
  • A bachelor's or master's degree, plus a professional qualification — CA, CPA, ACCA, CFA, or an MBA in Finance
  • A background in a high-intensity, deadline-driven environment — a Big 4 firm, a major consulting firm, equity research, investment banking / M&A, or a comparable scale-up FP&A team — where demanding workloads and tight turnarounds are the norm
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the judgment to turn analysis into clear, actionable recommendations
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication, and the ability to work independently without constant supervision

Nice to have (bonus)

  • eCommerce, agency, or FP&A experience
  • Hands-on experience with Shopify, QuickBooks Online, Xero, Glew.io or Amazon Seller/Vendor
  • Prior client-facing or investor-facing work

What you will get in return

  • Full-time salary of USD $2,500–$3,500 per month (approximately ₹2.1–3.0 lakh per month, ~₹25–36 LPA), paid in INR, plus a performance bonus
  • Flexible, output-focused working within the overlap window above
  • Fully remote work (want to work from the South of France next summer? That's where I plan to be as well.)
  • 20 days of PTO plus all national holidays
  • Company-wide shutdown during the week between Christmas and New Year's
  • Real room to grow into Finance Manager or VP Finance as we scale

We figure things out. We rarely throw our hands up and say "I don't know" — we challenge the status quo and get more done on tighter budgets. We take the time to understand client processes, then find ways to improve them.

We are client-centric

Our clients are the core of our "Why." We schedule in our clients' time zones, work hard to make sure they feel valued, empathise when needed, and do our best to understand their needs and then meet them. We care deeply about our clients as people.
